Mr José Sumbula Calamba, Vice-president

José Sumbula da Silva Calamba is an Angolan engineer and entrepreneur, currently serving as Vice-President of the Chamber of Mines of Angola (CAMINAS). He plays an active role in shaping dialogue around mining sector development, junior mining opportunities and investment frameworks in Angola and across Africa. He is engaged in the development of mining and industrial projects focused on value addition, local beneficiation and the advancement of downstream industries, contributing to Angola’s broader industrialisation agenda.

With international experience spanning Africa, China and Brazil, he works at the intersection of resource development, industrial transformation and global trade, supporting partnerships in technology transfer, project structuring and market integration. He is also actively involved in the Ordem dos Engenheiros de Angola, contributing to initiatives aimed at strengthening technical capacity and aligning engineering practice with national development goals.
